Losing Pounds

Me, feeling accomplished. After weighing myself yesterday, my human Morgan informed me that I now weigh 15 pounds (even). This Morgan credits to diet modification (which, translated, means less food and also less treats than what I previously was given; ugh!) as well as my using my One Fast Cat exercise wheel and also my taller  New Cat Condos cat tree, here . My veterinarian has told Morgan that 13 pounds would be a preferred weight for me to slowly trim down to, but 12 pounds would be even better. The good news is that I have managed to lose 2.7 or so pounds since my annual exam that was done last December (2015).

A rather brief video clip of me using my One Fast Cat exercise wheel after being prompted by a treat. The video clip was taken by a visitor who only managed to catch me towards the end when I was about to get off the wheel:

Weighty Matters

Morgan and me hanging outside recently (photo via a neighbor's cellphone; click onto photo in order to view enlargement) Up until last month, given both Morgan's as well as my  veterinarian's concern (read: obsession) over my weight , when Morgan wanted to find out how much I weigh, he would first weigh himself and then pick me up and weigh the two of us together. Afterwards he would deduct his weight from the total in order to calculate mine. This method is something I was usually rather uncooperative doing, to say the least. Last month, however, Morgan used treats to entice me onto the scale in an attempt to get me to weigh myself. After a few tries on and off the digital scale, my weight was determined with much more ease than was previously possible. We  did it again this afternoon and, after a little  repetition,  the system worked like a charm. This method is also more enjoyable on my end and much less stressful for Morgan and myself. With Morgan...

One Fast Cat Exercise Wheel: Working Out

* Updated * (with the usual edits and the like) As reported within an update made to a previous post ( here ), my One Fast Cat exercise wheel arrived earlier this month, however assembly of it was delayed for a time due to certain technical complexities that cropped up for Morgan during the assembly process . Me lounging (circa: December 2014) This is also pretty much what I was doing after using my exercise wheel this morning as well After Morgan was able to get other things that needed doing done, including preparing for the annual apartment inspection that took place late last week, and then resting up a bit, on Sunday afternoon he was able to successfully complete the assembly of the exercise wheel. Once that was finished he brought it back up to our apartment, moved some of the furniture around in order to make room for the wheel and set it up for me so I could thoroughly inspect and check it out. He tried enticing me to get on it several different times afterwar...

Welcome

Me with my cat scratcher. (circa: December 2014) * Updated * (with the usual edits and the like) Welcome to my blog. My name is Cleopatra, however most humans refer to me as Cleo. I am a cat that is nearly two years old, comfortably residing in the Central Vermont region and serve as the case manager of an older human male who is also my caretaker. His name is Morgan and he will be blogging posts on my behalf. This blog of mine will serve as my cat journal to the world, opining about everyday events as well as life in general from the perspective of a cat and also about living with my human. Before I came to live with Morgan in early December of last year (2014), I was staying at the Central Vermont Humane Society (CVHS) for a while. Prior to his going to CVHS to adopt a new cat, Morgan came across my profile on their Website. He was obviously taken by me and, being likewise, I decided to adopt him. If you live in the area and are interested in adopting a cat, check out t...
